The star of the first rank: ALUTECH aluminium profile systems for the Grozny Mall shopping center

The largest shopping and entertainment center in the South of the Russian Federation, Grozny Mall, which appeared on the map of the capital of Chechnya in October 2020, is called the pearl of the North Caucasus. The facility, which has an area of more than 25 football fields (more than 147 thousand square metres), has been built with the help of unique architectural solutions.

The building has a complex geometry and is almost completely transparent due to the usage of two main materials: aluminium and glass. On the north-western facade there is a large glass entrance group, with the help of which the view of the harmonious interiors of the shopping and entertainment center can be overviewed. The second entrance (from the side of the ‘Heart of Chechnya’ mosque) is organized in the form of a unique tree with a canopy-crown.

However, the object's most striking feature is the star-shaped roof. Due to this design solution, the Grozny Mall shopping and entertainment center was officially registered as the world's largest architectural image of an eight-pointed star.

The translucent design of the project is based on ALUTECH ALT F50 profile system. Due to the high bearing capacity of aluminium, the applied mullions and transoms have minimum width that allows to have maximum sunlight penetration into the halls and atriums of the shopping center while the overall building looks light and elegant.

The installation of the translucent facade and roof was carried out by the ALUTECH certified partner - Omega Plus LLC (Grozny). The total glazing area of the shopping and entertainment center was about 10 thousand sq.m, the area of the glazed part of the roof - 1.5 thousand sq. m. An experienced company was able to implement such a complex glazing project in less than one and a half years, presenting residents and guests of the city a building that will undoubtedly become one of the visiting cards of the Chechen Republic.
